Dutchess Resident Who Worked Throughout Nation In Hospitality Industry Dies At 51
A Hudson Valley resident who worked in the hospitality industry in different states across the nation has died at the age of 51. Jason Antonelli died from an "unexpected cardiac event" in Newburgh on Wednesday, July 6, according to his obituary. Antonelli, who was known in his early years as Jason Reichgut, grew up in Hyde Park and graduated from Roosevelt High School, where he was a member of the varsity crew and varsity soccer teams. SUNY Oswego is suspending in-person learning for two weeks as the number of COVID-19 cases on campus continues to grow. The move, announced Friday, Sept. 18, takes effect on Saturday, Sept. 19. More than 20 students have been suspended by New York University for failing to comply with COVID-19 safety guidelines. The suspensions come just days after both in-person and remote classes began on Wednesday, Sept. 2. A system-wide COVID-19 case tracker dashboard has been located for the State University of New York's 64 universities and colleges. The data is reported by individual campuses every 24 hours to more efficiently monitor, respond to, and contain the virus, the state said in an announcement on Sunday, Sept. 6. With another 100 new COVID-19 cases confirmed, SUNY Oneonta said it will close campus for the remainder of the fall semester and switch to fully remote learning. Students Call For Action In Latest Rally Against Gun Violence In Putnam
Putnam County students said “enough” to gun violence in America, rallying at the old Putnam County Courthouse for several hours over the weekend calling on stricter gun laws.
