2 People Injured In Head-On Crash In Carmel Two people were injured in a head-on collision in the Hudson Valley that left two cars severely damaged.  The incident happened in Putnam County on Friday, Jan. 19 around 2:45 p.m., when two cars collided on Crane Road (Route 32) in the area of Fini Drive in Carmel, according to the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department.  Two people were taken to a hospital after the crash by first responders, firefighters said. The cause of the crash was not released.

Planet Fitness To Open New Location In Area Fitness buffs in the Hudson Valley will soon have a new gym to pump iron.  Planet Fitness is set to open a new location in Orange County in the Big V Town Centre in the Vails Gate part of New Windsor, developers announced. Royal Properties Inc. announced that Planet Fitness has signed a 10-year lease with at least two five-year options to open a 20,769-square-foot gym in the Town Centre on Windsor Highway. “We are excited that Planet Fitness will be joining the growing tenant roster at Big V. Traffic Alert: I-84 Crash Causes Stop-Go Delays, Route 32 Reopens After Downed Pole This story has been updated. Motorists had to endure two major slowdowns on I-84 and Route 32 in Orange County. The rollover crash occurred around 9:32 a.m. Monday on I-84 eastbound near Ext 8B in Newburgh. State police traffic is getting by, but traffic is backed-up and slowdowns are occurring. Route 32 was closed in Cornwall from Route 107/Quaker Avenue. and Route 65/Angola Road, due to a downed utility pole and wires from late in the morning until just before 6 p.m.

Dutchess Residents Charged With DWI In Weekend Stops Several Hudson Valley motorists were among 29 drivers busted by New York State Police troopers recently as law enforcement agencies in the area continue a nationwide crackdown on drunk, drugged and distracted driving. Among the local motorists charged include: Orange County On Friday, Sept. 21, State Police troopers from Catskill arrested Tasha Purdy, 27, of Walden, for DWI. She was traveling in Cairo when she was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation.
