Woman Hits Gas Instead Of Brake, Ends Up In Pool, Police Say A woman who thought she was hitting the brake on her vehicle, but instead hit the gas, ended up at the bottom of a clubhouse pool, police said. The incident took place around 9 a.m. Monday in rainy conditions at the Retreat Senior Living community on Langdon Grove off Stoneleigh Avenue in Carmel, said Carmel Police Lt. John Dearman. Darman said the 67-year-old Carmel woman told officers she thought she was stepping on the brake, but instead hit the gas, jumped a curb and drove through a fence before ending up in the bottom of the pool.
