LaGrange Home Built In 1795 Heavily Damaged By Fire A LaGrange home built in 1795 received heavy damage following a fire on the second floor and the left side of the home, the LaGrange Fire Department said. The fire started around 10:40 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 27, at 15 Skidmore Road, said LaGrange Fire Chief Barry Ward. Arriving units found heavy fire on the second floor of the left side of the home, he added. Firefighters were able to make a quick attack and had extinguished the flames within an hour or so and cleared the scene by 1 p.m., he said. One Fatality Reported In Crash Involving School Bus In Dutchess This story has been updated. One person died following a crash between a car and a Red Hook school bus, according to Hyde Park police. According to Lt. Robert Benson, the crash occurred around 8 a.m., Monday in the area of South Quaker Lane and Dana Place. Once on scene, officers found a head-on crash between the bus and the car with a possible ejection. An investigation into the crash revealed that a 2002 Honda Civic was traveling north on South Quaker Lane, and a 2015 Ford Red Hook School bus traveling south on South Quaker lane collided.
