Murder Suspect Who Set Fire To Avoid Capture In Hudson Valley ID'd, Charged, Police Say Police have identified a Northern Westchester man who has been apprehended after allegedly setting fire to a home in order to avoid being captured following the stabbing death of another man. Peekskill resident Shane Gilleo, age 30, was arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 14, and charged with murder and arson, said Det. Lt. Jack Galusha, of the Peekskill Police. The incident unfolded around 12:30 p.m., Wednesday when police responded to a call of a person stabbed in front of 7 N. James St., in Peekskill. Hudson Valley Murder Suspect Sets Fire To Building To Avoid Capture, Police Say A Northern Westchester man who allegedly stabbed another man to death set fire to a building to avoid capture, police said. The incident began in Peekskill around 12:30 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 14 on North James Street. According to Peekskill Police Chief Leo Dylewski, officers responded to the home for a report of an individual suffering from a stab wound. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, 48-year-old Edward Reeves, of Peekskill, the chief said. Reeves had suffered multiple stab wounds and was immediately given medical aid by officers before being transported to Westches…

The crash happened around 9:10 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23 on Route 9 in the area of Main Street in Peekskill. An initial investigation revealed a black 2018 Audi Q7 operated by Mark E. Three-Alarm Fire Destroys Senior Housing Complex In Area A three-alarm fire destroyed a senior housing complex under construction in Northern Westchester. The blaze, which was so intense it required some 100 firefighters, was reported around 8 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 8, at 1847 Crompond Road, in Peekskill.  The Peekskill Volunteer Ambulance Corps, who also responded to the fire, said the fire was so intense and massive that embers from it were found throughout various areas of the city, including melting some items in a neighbor's yard.  At the same time, the department was receiving multiple 911 calls to report the blaze and from residents concerne…
