Drunk Driver Crashes, Runs Away From Scene In Hudson Valley, Police Say A 23-year-old man faces charges after allegedly crashing his car in Northern Westchester while drunk and running away from the scene of the crash, police said.  The incident happened on Monday, April 24 around 9:30 p.m., when Yorktown Police received a report that a vehicle had crashed on Lexington Avenue and that the driver was fleeing on foot, according to the department.  Officers then arrived at the scene and found the driver a short distance away on Storage Road.  An investigation conducted at the scene determined that the driver, identified as 23-year-old Geovany Aldan…

'Giving, Generous' Family Loses Home On Son's Birthday In Hudson Valley A beloved family from Northern Westchester that lost their home in a fire and is known for often lending help to their community is now receiving an outpouring of support in return.  The Palmiotto family lost their Mohegan Lake home on Mohegan Avenue in a fire that started on the night of Saturday, Feb. 25 around 7:30 p.m., the same day as their son's birthday.  The Yorktown Heights Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire and was able to put it out, but not before the home was lost. Man Accused Of Breaking Into Area Home, Assaulting Resident A man was arrested for allegedly breaking into a Northern Westchester home and assaulting a resident inside. Anthony Vukel, 27, of Mohegan Lake, was arrested on Tuesday, Dec 22, by Yorktown Police for the incident which took place on Sunday, Nov. 1, police said. According to police, on Sunday, Nov. 1, the Yorktown Police responded to a home on the report of an assault.
