Dutchess Man Threatening To Set His Vehicle On Fire Surrenders, Police Say A man was taken to an area hospital for observation after calling the police and telling them he was sitting in a vehicle doused with gasoline and explosives. The incident took place around 1 a.m., Sunday, April 11, on Main Street in the City of Beacon, said Detective Sergeant Jason Johnson of the City of Beacon Police Department. According to Johnson, the 64-year man called Dutchess County 911 and stated that he was sitting in his vehicle doused in gasoline with explosives and a loaded firearm.  He also threatened to use them if anyone approached, Johnson said.  …

ID Released For Victim Of Poughkeepsie Condominium Fire Police have released the ID for a man killed in a fire at a condominium. John Stein, age 60, of the Town of Poughkeepsie, was killed during a fire around 6:35 p.m., Saturday, April 3, at the Greenbriar Condominiums at 2740 South Road in Poughkeepsie, said Town Of Poughkeepsie Police Captain Michael O'Dowd. ID Released For High School Student Stabbed To Death By Teen Girl A 17-year-old area high school student has been identified as the victim of a deadly stabbing. Roy Boyd, of the City of Middletown, was found stabbed to death around 6 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 21, following a 911 call reporting a domestic dispute on Orchard Street, said City of Middletown Police Lt. Jeffry R. Thoelen. As officers responded to the area, a second call said that Boyd, who attended Middletown High School, had been stabbed in the chest.
