One Driver Trapped In Head-On Area Crash A two-vehicle head-on crash trapped the driver of one vehicle in Northern Westchester. The crash took place around 8:17 a.m., Friday, Feb. 14, at the intersection of Mahopac Avenue and Route 35 in Somers, said the Somers Volunteer Fire Department. The first units on the scene found the trapped driver, and with a crew of five using the Jaws of Life to remove the side of the vehicle, the driver was removed within eight minutes, the department said. A serious two-car crash is tied up traffic during the morning commute near the border of Northern Westchester and Putnam. The crash, reported just before 8 a.m. Monday, June 17, occurred on westbound Route 6 at the intersection of Windsor Road, just west of Mahopac Avenue in Somers. One of the vehicles involved landed well off the road. Delays lasted through the end of the morning commute.
