Pedestrian Seriously Injured After Being Hit By SUV Near Marist College A 61-year-old was hospitalized over the weekend after he was struck by an SUV on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie, near Marist College, police said. Officers from the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department received a report shortly before 5:45 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 6, of a Honda CR-V that struck a pedestrian on North Road, near the college. Police said that a 63-year-old Hyde Park man struck a Poughkeepsie resident who was on the roadway, not in a crosswalk. Two Men Shot As Fights Break Out Overnight In Poughkeepsie Two men suffered gunshot wounds as fights broke out amid a large crowd overnight in the City of Poughkeepsie, Lt. Matt Clark said. The incident occurred around 3:15 a.m. Saturday in the area of Church and Academy streets. A 29-year-old victim was found with a gunshot wound to his chest.
