Wappingers Falls Man Indicted For Murder Of Man During Poughkeepsie Robbery A man who is already serving a 14-year prison sentence for a carjacking in which he dragged the victim through a parking lot has been charged with the murder of a 68-year-old City of Poughkeepsie man in 2017. Anthony Abbott, 36, of Wappingers Falls, was arraigned on Monday, July 8,  on two counts of first-degree murder, second-degree, murder, robbery, and burglary, said Dutchess County District Attorney William Grady. ID Released For Poughkeepsie Man Whose Death Ruled As Homicide Update: An autopsy conducted Wednesday by the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office revealed the 68-year-old man found with serious injuries several days ago was the victim of a homicide. The name of the man, James Griffin, was also released the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department. Grffin died of his injuries on Tuesday. The criminal investigation is continuing. There is currently no threat to public safety with regard to this incident, police said.
