Ex-Downstate Correctional Officers Sent To Prison For Beating Inmate, Falsifying Records Two former New York State Correction Officers are going to be on the other side of the bars for several years for beating a defenseless inmate and attempting to cover it up during an elaborate scheme. Kathy Scott, 43, has been sentenced to 100 months and George Santiago, Jr., 35, has been sentenced to 87 months in prison. They were convicted in November last year for their roles in the 2013 beating of inmate Kevin Moore in the Downstate Correctional Facility in Fishkill.
