Dutchess Man Threatening To Set His Vehicle On Fire Surrenders, Police Say A man was taken to an area hospital for observation after calling the police and telling them he was sitting in a vehicle doused with gasoline and explosives. The incident took place around 1 a.m., Sunday, April 11, on Main Street in the City of Beacon, said Detective Sergeant Jason Johnson of the City of Beacon Police Department. According to Johnson, the 64-year man called Dutchess County 911 and stated that he was sitting in his vehicle doused in gasoline with explosives and a loaded firearm.  He also threatened to use them if anyone approached, Johnson said.  …

Dover Man Charged With Attempted Murder After Shooting Into Neighbor's Home A 70-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after shooting into a neighbor's house in the area, state police said. The incident happened around 1:45 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1 in Dutchess County. Police Evacuate Apartment To Apprehend Robbery Suspect In Poughkeepsie A Town of Poughkeepsie apartment house had to be evacuated Monday after a wanted armed robbery suspect was spotted in one of the units, according to the Town of Poughkeepsie Police. The Mountain Brook Estates at 134 Innis Ave., was cleared around 7 p.m., after police received information that Joseph Crocco, 41, of New Hampshire, was inside one of the units, said Capt. Kevin Faber.  Crocco was wanted as a fugitive from justice for armed robbery, Faber said.
