Malachi Hunter, a former New Jersey resident, was arrested on Thursday, Sept. 9, in Dutchess County after crashing head-on into a City of Poughkeepsie police car. City of Poughkeepsie Man With Handgun Fights With Officers, Police Say A 26-year-old man who allegedly had a stolen loaded handgun in his waistband fought with police who attempted to arrest him during a traffic stop in the area. Rawl D. Deslandes, of the City of Poughkeepsie, was arrested around 2:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 9, after City of Poughkeepsie officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Main and White streets, said Captain Richard Smith. During the investigative stages of the stop, Deslandes was found to be in possession of a stolen loaded handgun, in his waistband, Smith said.
