The name of the Hudson Valley woman who died after falling 15 feet into a creek while having a picture taken has now been released. The Dutchess County resident has been identified as 42-year-old Sukanya Basu of Beacon. The incident took place around 6:40 p.m., Tuesday, July 18, at Fishkill Creek, said Det. Sgt. A 42-year-old woman died after falling down a 15-foot embankment into a creek in the region while having her picture taken. The incident took place in Dutchess County around 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 18 in the city of Beacon. According to Det. Sgt. Woman Killed Crossing Busy Beacon Roadway, Police Say
A woman was killed after she was struck by a Jeep Wrangler crossing a busy roadway. The incident took place around 3:15 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 1 in Dutchess County in the City of Beacon. The woman was crossing Main Street and Teller Avenue when she was struck by a vehicle, said Detective Sergeant Jason Johnson, of the City of Beacon Police. A young child was hit while eating ice cream on a sidewalk during a two-vehicle crash in the area. It happened around 4 p.m., Sunday, May 9 in Beacon at the intersection of Main Street and North Cedar Street. A sleeping person was saved from a fire by City of Beacon firefighters when they found him inside a Main Street apartment on fire. Firefighters responded around 3:30 a.m., Thursday, April 4 to a report of a fire at 308 Main Street in Beacon, the City of Beacon Fire Department said. The first truck pulled on the scene within a minute and a half and found a three-story structure with All You Knead Artisan Bakers bakery on the first floor, two floors of apartments and a rear apartment, they said. Wappingers Falls Three-Alarm Fire Destroys Home
Numerous fire departments are on the scene of a three-alarm blaze at a two-and-half story home in Wappingers Falls that has caused extensive damage. According to officials, the fire started around 2:30 p.m. at 60 Huber Road in Chelsea and quickly spread to a three-alarm blaze. ID Released For Fishkill Fatal Crash Victim
A Beacon woman has been identified as the victim in a two-vehicle fatal crash in Fishkill that closed Route 9D for hours. Hilary R. Holmes, 49, was killed when the crash occurred around 9 a.m. Monday between a 2009 Honda Accord and a 2013 International box truck after she lost control of the vehicle, said Capt. Three Severely Burned, Dog KIlled In Beacon House Fire
Three people received severe burns after running down a staircase through fire, and another jumped from a second-story window in an effort to escape flames ripping through their home.
