Police: Teen Tried Smuggling Scalpels Into Downstate Correctional Facility
A teenager is herself now behind bars after attempting to smuggle scalpels into the Downstate Correctional Facility in Fishkill. New York State Police troopers arrested 19-year-old Bronx resident Charisma Gonzalez on the Fourth of July following an investigation that determined she was in possession of a pair of scalpel blades when she entered the prison. It is further alleged that she was planning to provide them to an inmate. Gonzalez was arrested at the prison and charged with a felony count of promoting prison contraband.
