Armed Teen Apprehended In Area For Carjacking ID'd Police have identified one of two men involved in an alleged armed carjacking of a taxi driver in Westchester County who was apprehended in Cortlandt. The incident took place around 3:13 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 17, when the Yonkers Police Department responded to the area of Elm Street and Walnut Street on a report of a robbery, said Yonkers Police Det. Lt. Dean Politopoulos. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 39-year-old female resident of Yonkers, who said that she was working as a taxi driver when she was approached by two armed men who stole her taxi, Politopoulos said. …

Car Crashes Into Storefront Of Busy Area Market A car drove into the storefront of a busy market early Thursday afternoon, sending shoppers scrambling in Northern Westchester. The incident took place around 12:08 p.m. when an elderly man drove into the front of Cole's Market at 2147 Albany Post Road in Montrose, said State Police spokesman AJ Hicks. Hicks said the incident is under investigation, but there are no known injuries. The building department is on the scene to check for structural damage.  This is a developing story.
