EAST FISHKILL, N.Y. - The rivalry between John Jay and Arlington is probably at its most intense on the soccer field, where both teams are routinely ranked among the best in the state.

But in any sport, at any venue - when these two schools get together, there will be an amped up intensity level. And it was no different when the Jay boys basketball team hosted its crosstown neighbor Friday evening.

It was the Patriots who prevailed in the first meeting of the season, coming out on top of a close one, 73-68.

Ryan Schumacher came up big for John Jay, dropping 32 points on the Admirals to go with 13 rebounds. Drew Whikley led Arlington with 20 points.
