The football coach at Arlington High School in LaGrangeville, Dominick DeMatteo will take over as head man at Section 1 power Nyack High School, according to Hudson Valley Sports Report.
DeMatteo said the offer was too good to refuse, according to the report.
“It went from no interest to piquing my interest to, finally, they presented me an opportunity I could not turn away from,” he Hudson Valley Sports Report.
Arlington's coach for nine years was approved officially Tuesday evening by the Nyack Board of Education - he'd told his Arlington players the prior Thursday that he'd taken the spot, said the report.
He is the son of Tony DeMatteo, Somers football coach and winningest coach in Section 1 history.
