Air Force veteran Deweever lost his previous van after being the victim of two robberies and identity theft, losing the van after overdraft fees overwhelmed his bank account, the Journal noted.

Coviello visited Deweever and was able to get him full disability benefits for the first time, resolving a problem Deweever had been dealing with since 1999, reported the Poughkeepsie Journal.

U.S. Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney joined with Coviello and the Hudson Valley Hero Project to donate $10,000 towards Deweever's rent and the new van, the Journal said.
