Police Investigate False Fighting Rumors At Arlington High School

LAGRANGEVILLE, N.Y. -- State Police and Dutchess County Sheriffs are investigating false reports of a fights at Arlington High School that triggered "hold in place" measures on Thursday, Jan. 15, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.

Superintendent Brendan Lyons said it is unclear how rumors of a large fight got started among the student body. He also said that no fights took place in the school, the Poughkeepsie Journal reported. 

The "hold in place" is a precautionary measure that requires students to stay in the classroom they are in. It is not as serious as a lockdown procedure, the Poughkeepsie Journal said.
