HOPEWELL JUNCTION, N.Y. -- A pair of police officers from the East Fishkill Police Department have saved the life of a 29-year-old woman who overdosed on heroin.

Officers Austin Nichols and Dennis Mullaney responded to the overdose at a residence on Arrowhead Road in Hopewell Junction on July 24, about 8:19 p.m., according to officials.

Upon arriving, they located the victim, who was unconscious and barely breathing, police report.

Nichols and Mullaney administered a dose of Narcan, an anti-opioid medication, according to officials.
