Man Shot In Poughkeepsie During Struggle, Police Say

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- A struggle between three people Saturday on a City of Poughkeepsie street led to a local man being shot, according to the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department.

The unidentified man was shot in the legs around 2:51 p.m. in the area of 238 Church St., when he was confronted by at least two people and a struggle ensued over a handgun, said Det. Lt. Matt Clark.

The victim's wounds were not considered life-threatening, he was transported to a local hospital for treatment, Clark said.
