Bridgeport, Conn., resident Jesse Friedman was arrested by state police Monday after he was found on the grounds with electronic cigarettes that contained cannabis.
According to state police, shortly after 12:45 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 27, troopers were dispatched to the Green Haven Correctional Facility to assist the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS) with the arrest of Friedman.
A K9 Unit from the DOCCS searched the vehicle Friedman was operating on prison property, police said. It was subsequently determined that the 47-year-old was in possession of two electronic cigarettes containing concentrated cannabis.
Friedman was charged with a misdemeanor count of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and was arraigned in the Town of Beekman Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or bond. He is due back in court on Thursday, March 9.
