POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Russ D. Papaioannou, of Poughkeepsie, died on March 6. He was 44.
Papaioannou was born January 6, 1973 to the late James Pappas and Florence Rizzuto. He owned and operated Pappas Trucking Company in Poughkeepsie. He was an auto mechanic by trade, an avid Yankees fan, and loved boating and 4 wheeling.
Papaioannou is survived by his wife, Della, children; Michael, Danielle, Russ Jr., Ryan and Tanya Pappas, all of Poughkeepsie, granddaughter Aubriee, siblings; Dorothy Pappas and Florence Johnson of Poughkeepsie, Roy Pappas of TN and Ross Pappas of FL.
Calling hours will be Sunday, March 12, from 4-6 p.m. at Joseph J. Darrow Sr. Funeral Home, 39 S. Hamilton St., Poughkeepsie. Burial will be Monday March 13, at 11 a.m. in the Mausoleum at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
