Naomi S. Goldberg, 83, Poughkeepsie Resident

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Naomi S. Goldberg, of the City of Poughkeepsie, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She was 83.

She was born May 4, 1932, in Poughkeepsie, to Louis and Elizabeth Fine Satz.  She attended the University of Michigan. 

She married Paul H. Goldberg on Jan. 6, 1952, in Poughkeepsie. For close to 50 years, they owned The House Of Cards which was established in 1957 in Poughkeepsie. They retired in 2007. She was a longtime member of the City of Poughkeepsie Planning Board.

She is survived by her husband, her son, Edward Goldberg and his wife, Myra Modell, of Los Angeles; daughter, Dr. Sara Jane Goldberg and her husband, Dr. George Papageorge, of Wappingers Falls; sister Susan (Jay) Kaplan of Needham, Mass.; and grandchildren Hannah and Leah Weiss and Gideon Goldberg.

Services will be held Sunday at 10 a.m. at Vassar Temple, 140 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. Burial will follow in the family plot in Vassar Temple Cemetery on LaGrange Ave., Poughkeepsie. Rabbi Leah Berkowitz will officiate.
