Michael F. Hynes, 72, Of Poughkeepsie

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Michael F. Hynes, a resident of Poughkeepsie, died Wednesday, Jan. 20. He was 72.

Hynes had served in the Marines and was a member of St. Martin de Porres Church, where he served as a Eucharist minister, and the American Legion. He also worked as a mechanic for Con Edison.

He is survived by his children, Jeanette and Joseph Maruscsak of Ballston Spa, N.Y.; and Daria and William Barry of Rhinebeck. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Sean, Megan and Colin Maruscsak and Emma and Jack Barry; as well as his sister Marion Young of Garnerville; and his brother Peter Hynes of Texas.

He was predeceased by his wife, Mary A. Collins; two brothers, Richard and Thomas Hynes; and his sister, Anna Hynes.

Calling hours will be Monday, Jan., 25, from 5-8 p.m. at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Jan. 26, at 10 a.m. at St. Martin de Porres Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
