POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Mary E. Greene, a longtime resident of Poughkeepsie, died Friday, July 8. She was 87.
She was the daughter of the late Paul and Madeline Gehrdes.
On May 28, 1949, in Brooklyn, she married Kenneth F. Greene.
She is survived by her children, Catherine and Rich Bala of LaGrangeville, Kevin and Anita Greene of Bullhead City, Ariz., and Theresa and Donald Gilman of Culpeper, Va.; grandchildren, Tracy Gilman, Rachel Bala, Stacey Bala, and Christopher Gilman and his wife Nattaporn Lohitharn; sisters, Loretta Murray and her husband Thomas of Forida and Josephine Hoey of New York; sister-in-law, Cecile (Seal) Gehrdes of Alabama; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband; her son Lawrence T. Greene; and her brother Robert Gehrdes.
Calling hours will be from 2-5 p.m. Monday and 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the McHoul Funeral Home Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
