Eric Clausen, 52, Of Wappingers Falls

WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. -- Eric Clausen of Wappingers Falls and formerly of Fort Myers, Fla., entered into rest Thursday, June 9, 2016 at home after a brief illness. He was 52. 

The son of Louis and Barbara Erhard Clausen, he was born July 13, 1963, in Poughkeepsie.

Clausen graduated from Roy C. Ketcham High School in 1981. He worked for many years as a carpenter for TPI Aluminum in Fort Myers, Fla. He enjoyed his work and was a true craftsman in his trade. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing; he would fish any chance he had. 

Survivors include his companion and mother of his daughter, Denise Whiteley of Fort Myers, Fla.; his daughter, Kayla Clausen (Jayson Drouillard) of Fort Myers, Fla.; brothers, David Clausen of Wappingers Falls and Aaron Clausen of Clintondale; sister, Amy Greiner (Harold) of Marlboro; grandchildren, Angel, Jayson, Louis and Emily Ann; and several nieces. 

The family will receive their friends from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls. A memorial service will be conducted immediately following visitation at 5 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Chris Boyd officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to Hospice of Dutchess County, 374 Violet Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
