Denise V. Gunn-Totten, 63, Former Poughkeepsie Resident

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Denise V. Gunn-Totten -- a Clintondale resident, formerly of Poughkeepsie -- died on Saturday, Jan. 9. She was 63.

Born in Poughkeepsie, Gunn-Totten worked in food service for Vassar College.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Church, as well as the Rogers Point Boating Association. She loved gardening, the stars and moon, and spending time with her family.

Gunn-Totten is survived by her husband, John Totten; mother Virginia Mastrovito Gunn, of Pleasant Valley; sister Donna Fischer of Crawfordville, Florida; brother Edward Gunn, of Dawsonville, Georgia; sister Jeanette Beaver, of Highland; brother Michael Gunn, of Tallahassee, Florida; sister Maureen Sears, of Hyde Park; sister Marie Greaves, of Poughkeepsie; brother Thomas Gunn, of Tallahassee; brother William Gunn, of Queens; sister Elisa Merendino, of Gaithersburg, Maryland; brother Richard Gunn, of Buffalo; sister Andrea Savino, of Panama City Beach, Florida; mother-in-law Eileen Totten, Clintondale; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her father, Edward Gunn, brother James Gunn and sister Joanne Meckelvaney.

Visiting hours will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 14, at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., in Poughkeepsie. A mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 15, at the Holy Trinity Church, 775 Main St., also in Poughkeepsie. Burial will be private.
