POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Anna T. Welz, a lifetime resident of Poughkeepsie and LaGrange, died Saturday, Jan. 9 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She was 90.
She attended Nativity School and graduated from Poughkeepsie High School in 1942. After working at Delaval Separator Company and Western Publishing Company, she retired as an Industrial Hygienist in 1990 after 34 years with IBM. She enjoyed the bowling leagues she was on.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol Anne Porter and her husband William; her grandson Kevin Michael Porter and his wife Erin; her granddaughter Kristen Elizabeth Schick and her husband Kevin; her great granddaughter Kylie Elizabeth Porter; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband John E. Welz, four brothers, four sisters, and several brothers and sister-in-laws.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Anna's name to the Dutchess County SPCA, 636 Violet Ave., Hyde Park, NY 12538.
