The current system was bankrolled by the New York City Department of Environmental Protection with a $1.3 million budget surplus after completion of planned repairs, the Poughkeepsie Journal said.

The state said there was no timetable for a decision on what to do with the surplus, the Poughkeepsie Journal story noted.
