Sex Offender Convicted Of Raping Teen Reports Move To Poughkeepsie

A registered sex offender convicted of raping a teenage girl has reported a move in Dutchess County.

The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Dutchess residents regarding the residency of 32-year-old Justin Tartt, who has moved from to a residence on Rose Street in Poughkeepsie.

The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Tartt as a level 2 threat, which means he is at "moderate risk of a repeat offense."

According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Tartt had sexual intercourse with his 15-year-old victim in November 2004 and he was convicted of third-degree rape in August 2007. He was sentenced to six months in jail and 10 years probation. He is now under the jurisdiction of the Poughkeepsie City Police Department.
