POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Marist College's main campus in Poughkeepsie has re-opened after the college closed dorms and buildings and canceled classes Friday morning after anonymous online threats reportedly posted on Twitter.
Law enforcement authorities have determined that there is no credible danger to the college, Marist said in a statement.
Although the campus is now open, classes and offices remain closed for the afternoon.
Evening events will proceed as scheduled, including:
The Diwali Celebration from 5-7 p.m. in the Cabaret
The men’s basketball home opener against Holy Cross at 7 p.m. at McCann Arena
The comedian Tracy Ashley at 9 p.m. in the Student Center
Police will remain on campus for a few hours to assist Marist security officers as the campus reopens. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities will provide more information when available.

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Marist College in Poughkeepsie is closed on Friday morning after receiving an anonymous, online threat, the university said in an alert sent just before 8 a.m.
All students have been told to remain in their dorms and academic buildings were immediately closed and Friday classes were canceled.
New York State Police and Town of Poughkeepsie Police are on the scene.
