The new summer session is a full-time, 40-hour a week tuition program offered over 10 weeks starting in June and involving an on-call component, according to program organizers.
The program is aimed at clergy, seminarians, deacons, lay minsters and anyone else who is "deeply rooted in their religious tradition who would like to learn the essentials of pastoral care," according to a group statement.
“For some, this is the first step to become a professional, certified chaplain,” said Rabbi Neal Loevinger, director of Spiritual Care Services at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. “This is also a great opportunity for individuals in diverse roles to delve into the world of spiritual care in a healthcare setting.”
Anyone interested in applying to the program should visit the HealthCare Chaplaincy Network's online registration form.
Anyone with questions about the program should call Loevinger at 845-483 6644.
