WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. - One of Wappingers Falls' favorite events takes place this weekend, as the village will host its 22nd Dutchess County St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday, March 4.
The parade has grown to include over 3,000 participants and draws huge crowds along the parade route that winds through the village.
Each year the parade committee selects an outstanding community person to lead the parade, and this year's Grand Marshal is Eileen McDonald Sassmann.
The parade, which will follow a service and breakfast at St. Mary's Church, is set to step off at 1 p.m. sharp, rain or shine.
