Beacon's More Good has a great way to help with that. The store specializes in syrups that are mixed with seltzer to create a variety of great-tasting alternatives to soda.
More Good, which has been in operation just over two years, also specializes in certified loose leaf organic teas - with 32 blends on hand - as well as spices, herbs, bar accessories and a huge selection of bitters.
"Our main thing is syrups - organic, hand-crafted syrups for flavoring," More Good's Brett DeNicolais told Daily Voice recently. "You can use it with seltzer, and with cocktails, and you can customize it to the individual.
"People love to have an alternative to soda that they can control," DeNicolais added. "It's half the calories and half the sugar. And we have a great selection of teas and spices."
Beacon's Ella's Bellas features the store's syrups Friday and Saturday nights, with More Good owner Jason Schuler on hand to answer any questions about his products.
More Good is also partnered with Generosity.org in an effort to make clean water accessible to everyone on the planet. They've pledged a minimum of $4,000 per year through two annual fundraisers to ensure that More Good will fund at least one fully sustainable water well each and every year in parts of the world that desperately need them. In 2013 they donated over $6,800 and in 2014 the business donated over $14,000.
