Nearly A Dozen Displaced, 2 Pets Killed In Hudson Valley House Fire Nearly a dozen residents were displaced and two pets were killed during a fire at a Hudson Valley home. The fire took place in Dutchess County the city of Poughkeepsie around 1:20 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 22 at 372 Mansion St. First arriving fire units found heavy fire in the rear of the building on the first and second floors, said City of Poughkeepsie Fire Chief Joseph Franco. Information from bystanders on the scene reported that all of the residents were of the building, officials said. Man Arrested With Glock, Ammo Following Domestic Incident In Area, Police Say A 35-year-old Dutchess County man has been arrested for alleged possession of a weapon following a domestic incident. Jesse Stevens, of Hyde Park, was arrested on Friday, March 27, by the Town of Hyde Park Police after officers responded to a Poughkeepsie home for a report of a domestic incident, said Chief of Police Robert Benson. According to the chief,  when officers arrived, they met with a woman who reported that her husband, Stevens, had physically assaulted her and then left before police arrived. Man High On Drugs Crashes Into Storefront In Area, Police Say A 40-year-old man has been charged with DWI/Drugs after crashing his vehicle in a storefront earlier in the week. Orange County resident David A. Bergsma, of Wallkill, was arrested for the crash that took place around 11:40 a.m., Monday, Nov. 11, at the Rite Aid Pharmacy on North Road, in Poughkeepsie, said Town of Poughkeepsie Police Capt. Michael O'Dowd. Pickup Truck Crashes Into Rite Aid On Route 9 A Rite Aid in the area is closed for at least rest of the day after a pickup truck crashed into the store, the Fairview Fire District said. The Rite Aid is located on Route 9 (at 3350 North Road) across from Marist College in Poughkeepsie. The incident happened just before noontime. There has been no word on any possible injuries sustained by the driver, who is described as an unidentified man. Town of Poughkeepsie Police and other emergency responders remain at the scene.
