Fire Officer Admits To Role At Bar Fight Caught On Video In Westchester
A fire lieutenant who was caught on camera knocking out a patron during a bar fight in Westchester has admitted to his role in the violent incident. Yonkers Fire Lt. Christopher Mitchell pleaded guilty to a count of disorderly conduct last month and has been sentenced to a one-year conditional discharge. Mitchell has already paid $15,000 in restitution to one of his victims for medical expenses, and he’s been ordered to pay an additional $19,757.24 by Oct. 25 next year. One Injured In Overturned SUV Crash In Westchester
One person was injured after losing control of his SUV and overturning the vehicle.The incident took place just before noon Tuesday at the corner of Yonkers Avenue and Kimball Avenue, in Yonkers, trapping the driver, said Yonkers Police Det. Sgt. Dean Politopoulos. Politopoulos said the male driver may have suffered a medical event of some kind before the crash. A member of a prominent Westchester street gang has become the latest to admit to his role in using violence and weapons to control their neighborhood in Yonkers. Travis Pearson, 28, a member of the Blood Stones Army, pleaded guilty one count of attempted assault, a violent felony, and one count of second-degree conspiracy. The 62-year-old man who was killed when he was struck by an SUV while crossing a Westchester street late Thursday afternoon has been identified. The incident took place around 5:35 p.m. as the man was crossing the road near 63 Yonkers Ave. and was struck by a Jeep driven by a 35-year-old Yonkers woman, said Sgt. Jared Singer.
