McTernan, who headed the South Orangetown Ambulance Corps in Rockland County, began his healthcare career when he was 16 when he became a youth corps member, the department said. Fatal Accident: Elizabeth Woman Struck By Cab, Run Over By Passing Car An Elizabeth woman was fatally struck by a livery car Thursday morning, authorities said. The victim was crossing Division Street when she was struck around 7:15 a.m., a spokesperson for the Elizabeth Police Department said. Another vehicle went around the cab and ran over the woman, lying in the street, the spokesperson said. She was transported to Trinitas Regional Medical Center.  The investigation is continuing, however DUI was not a factor.
