Weeks-Long Lane Closure Scheduled During Roadwork On I-84 Stretch In Area
The New York State Department of Transportation has issued an alert to motorists about an expected lane closure on I-84 in the Hudson Valley due to construction. One lane of the eastbound highway is expected to close in Putnam County, between the Connecticut state line and Exit 58 (Ludingtonville Road) in the Town of Kent. Officials said the closures are set to take place Sundays through Thursdays between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. beginning Sunday, May 8 through Thursday, June 30, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Man Charged In Hit-Run Crash With NY State Police Cruiser
The driver of a tractor-trailer that struck and damaged a New York State Police cruiser on Interstate 84 before fleeing the scene has been apprehended, authorities said. At approximately 11:45 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 21, a state trooper on patrol from the East Fishkill barracks was monitoring traffic on a stretch of the roadway in Putnam County in the Town of Kent when the tractor-trailer struck the cruiser and fled the scene. Putnam Man With Four Warrants Caught With Heroin, Sheriff Says
A wanted man with four active warrants was taken back into police custody after being stopped with heroin and paraphernalia during a traffic stop on Route 9 in Putnam County. A member of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Narcotics Enforcement Unit stopped Putnam Valley resident Richard Wulfhop in Philipstown on Friday, July 19, when he committed a traffic violation on Route 9. During the stop, it was determined that Wulfhop was in possession of an item used for intravenous drug use, narcotics packaging materials, and three glassine envelopes containing alleged heroin.
