Pipes Burst At School In Northern Westchester: Cold Temperatures Cause Flooding Freezing cold temperatures caused pipes to burst in a Northern Westchester Middle School, which resulted in parts of the building flooding.  At around 3 p.m. in the afternoon on Saturday, Feb. 4, a fire suppression sprinkler in the ceiling of a stairwell at Peekskill Middle School froze because of the high wind gusts and cold temperatures, according to a letter sent to parents by Superintendent David Mauricio. 'Exciting Upgrades': Construction Starts On Westlake Campus Construction is officially underway for a series of what Mount Pleasant Central School District officials are calling “exciting upgrades” taking place at the Westlake campus throughout the summer. Construction crews have been working hard to ensure that as many upgrades as possible are prepared prior to the start of the 2019-2020 school year. So far, the areas around the tennis courts have been cleared and leveled.
