Traffic on a highway in Northern Westchester will soon be affected by a series of scheduled lane closures over the coming days. The closures are scheduled to affect Interstate 684 in both the towns of Bedford and North Salem, according to the New York State Department of Transportation. The closures will begin in Bedford on both directions of I-684 between Exit 4 (Route 172) and Exit 6 (Route 35) at night between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. beginning on Monday, June 5, and continuing to Friday, June 9 to allow for construction work. Rollover Crash: Person Hospitalized, Main Road Closed In Somers
A vehicle rollover in Northern Westchester left one person hospitalized and caused a main road to be briefly closed to traffic. The crash happened on Saturday, May 27 around 3 p.m., when first responders in Somers were sent to Route 139 between Plumbrook Road and Van Rensselaer Road for a reported vehicle rollover, according to the Somers Volunteer Fire Department. Authorities are warning residents to stay away from the area of a fire in Westchester that left a commercial building destroyed and nine families displaced. A busy Hudson Valley roadway is closed due to a crash that brought down a utility pole. The crash took place in Rockland County early Monday morning, Feb. 27 when a vehicle struck a utility pole on Route 202 in Ramapo.
