Hen Hud HS Becomes One Of Just Two Distinguished Schools In State For Consecutive Years
Hendrick Hudson High School has been named as a Distinguished School by the nonprofit organization known as the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) program. This is the second consecutive year the school has received this recognition, and the school is one of just two schools throughout the state to be recognized for two years in a row. HS Science Teacher In Northern Westchester Earns National Recognition
A high school science teacher in Northern Westchester has received national recognition for being named as Biomedical Teacher of the Year by Project Lead the Way (PLTW). The recipient was announced in front of nearly 1,000 teachers at the national summit in Indianapolis. Brewster Schools Superintendent Announces Departure
A rocky school year in Brewster got a new surprise when Superintendent Valerie Henning-Piedmonte announced plans to leave the district at the end of the next school year. The Brewster Board of Education accepted Henning-Piedmonte’s resignation effective July 31, 2019. Henning-Piedmonte has been in education for 25 years. She came to the Brewster district during the 2013-2014 year as assistant superintendent for curriculum, instruction and assessment and was promoted to deputy superintendent. Fifth-Graders 'Amazed' By Westchester County Police Hazmat Robot
Westchester County Police “wowed” fifth-graders in Irvington, showcasing some of the technology used to battle crime in the region. Aa a culmination to their “Project Lead the Way” program, fifth-grade students at the Main Street School welcomed Westchester County Police Det. Hendrick Hudson High School has been recognized as a Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Distinguished School for providing broad access to transformative learning opportunities for students through Computer Science, Biomedical Science, and Engineering.
