Blaze Prompts Evacuation At Northern Westchester Residence A residence in Northern Westchester was evacuated after a blaze broke out inside the building. The blaze happened on Saturday, April 13 just before 7 p.m., when smoke was reported at a Chappaqua residence on Hunts Place, according to the Chappaqua Fire Department. Arriving crews from Chappaqua and the Pleasantville Volunteer Fire Department quickly confirmed that everyone was out of the home before working to get the blaze under control. Dog Rescued From Icy Pond In Northern Westchester Volunteer firefighters in the area are being hailed as heroes for rescuing a dog that fell through the ice of a Northern Westchester pond. At around 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 7, when Pleasantville firefighters were notified that a dog named Miller was stuck in Opperman's Pond and unable to climb out.
