Fireworks Mistaken For Gunshots Cause School In Putnam County To Lock Down A school in the Hudson Valley was put on lockdown after noises that sounded like gunshots were heard near the campus, police said.  The incident happened on Monday, May 15 at Haldane Elementary School in Cold Spring, when at around 12:15 p.m., noises that sounded like a firearm discharging were heard near the school by a school resource officer, according to Haldane Central School District Superintendent Phil Benante.   The noise prompted the school to initiate a lockdown of all students and staff in accordance with the district's emergency management protocols, and…

DNA Leads To Conviction Of Carmel Man After Burglary Spree A Carmel man described as a "Serial Burglar" was convicted by a jury following a spree of break-ins over a five-week period last year. Andrew Hickey was convicted of three counts of burglary in the second degree and one count of criminal mischief in the second degree on Wednesday, Nov. 7. Putnam County District Attorney Robert V.
