'Erratic' Driver Nabbed For DWI After Traffic Stop In Philipstown: Police
A 61-year-old woman is facing drunk driving charges after being stopped on a Hudson Valley roadway, police said. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 16 in Putnam County, when deputies from the Putnam County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to Route 9 near Old West Point Road in Philipstown after receiving a call about an "erratic driver." Deputies located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop, according to the Sheriff's Office. A 40-year-old drunk driver was apprehended after fleeing a traffic stop in the region, police said. The incident leading to the man's arrest began in Putnam County just before 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24, when a Kent Police officer saw a vehicle driving erratically on Route 311, according to the department. Several people were nabbed on drunk driving charges in the Hudson Valley over the holiday weekend, including a Westchester woman rescued from a rolled-over car and a taxi driver, police said. The arrests were announced by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday, Oct. 17, and were all made over Columbus Day weekend. Woman Driving With No Lights On In Wrong Lane Charged With DWI In Westchester
An allegedly drunk driver who was caught traveling on the wrong side of the road without headlights on over the weekend is facing multiple charges after being busted with a blood alcohol content nearly triple the legal limit.
