Crompond resident Edinson-Mauro Merino-Meza, 41, was stopped by an officer shortly before 11 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15, when he drove past a Yorktown police officer on Route 6 with no headlights on, through a red traffic light, prompting a traffic stop. During the subsequent stop, police said that Merino-Meza was found to be allegedly driving while impaired, with a blood alcohol content greater than .08 percent.
