The student was charged on Thursday, March 10 at Poughkeepsie Middle School, said Irwin Goldberg, the public information officer for the Poughkeepsie School District. A Dutchess County 911 alert was issued warning officers in the Town of Fishkill that a child was choking and not breathing on Saturday, Jan. 4. Town of Fishkill Police Officer Kevin Martyn jumped into action when the dispatch came across his radio, and he was able to arrive at the scene within seconds.
