Fire Heavily Damages Home, Displaces Residents In Fairfield County A Fairfield County home was heavily damaged during a fire overnight as snow continued to come down in the area that received more than 18 inches of snow.  The fire took place around 11:08 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 2, at 6 Sage Road, in the Lake Waubeeka area of Danbury, said James Gagliardo, communications director for the Danbury Fire Department. Woman Dead, Man Critically Injured In Danbury House Fire One person was killed and another severely injured after a house fire broke out in Danbury. The blaze began just after midnight on Sunday, May 10 at 29 Ninth Avenue across from the Western Connecticut State University midtown campus, said Danbury Fire Department Public Information Officer James Gagliardo.
