David Diaz, Award-Winning TV Reporter For Wcbs, Wnbc, Dies
David Diaz, whose career as an award-winning TV news reporter in New York City spanned three decades, has died.
He was 82.
His death, which occurred last week, was announced on Monday, March 17 by WCBS.
Following 15 years with WNBC-TV, Diaz spent 12 years at CBS New York.
A native of Puerto Rico, Diaz relocated to upper Manhattan during his childhood. He earned a master's degree from Columbia after graduating from City College and Fordham Prep.

Protesters Storm Trump Tower, Demand Release Of Detained Columbia Grad
Protesters stormed the lobby of Trump Tower in midtown Manhattan, calling for the release of Mahmoud Khalil, a Palestinian graduate of Columbia University, currently detained by US immigration authorities.
The protest began around midday on Thursday, March 13 with an estimated crowd of 100 to 200 individuals.
Participants chanted slogans such as “free Mahmoud, free them all” and “fight Nazis, not students,” expressing solidarity with Khalil, who earned his master’s degree from Columbia University in December.

ABC News 'This Week' Executive Producer Dies At Age 37
ABC News "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" executive producer Dax Tejera died suddenly on Friday, Dec. 23. He was 37 years old.
Tejera died of a heart attack, Mediaite reports, citing ABC News president Kim Godwin.
He is survived by his wife, Veronica, and their daughters, Sofia and Ella.
"As EP of “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” Dax’s energy, passion and love for that show, ABC News, and you, shined every Sunday morning," Godwin said in a note to network staff obtained by adweek.com. "That same love was extended to his precious girls."

Anthony Haruch, 94, formerly of Mahopac and Somers, died on Sunday, July 5 from COVID-19.
The last of six siblings and a lifelong bachelor, he devoted his life to art education. He received his BS in Education from SUNY Buffalo and MA from Columbia University and spent his career teaching in the Mahopac Central School District. In retirement he continued educating, publishing teaching materials, and taught jewelry making.
